Project kick-off meeting in Zaragoza, September 2017
The kick-off meeting of our M-ERA.NET project took place in Zaragoza (7-8 September, 2017). The meeting was organized by Dr Valeria Grazú (coordinator of the MagicCELLGene project) and Dr Raluca Fratila. We are thankful for the help provided by our Project Manager Ms Mari Carmen Gámez as well as by our students.

Javi Idiago gets the prize for the best talk at the 8th JIFQA meeting
Our team member Javi Idiago was awarded the prize for the best talk at the 8ª Jornada de Jóvenes Investigadores (Química y Física) de Aragón. Well done, Javi!
2nd Project progress meeting in Zaragoza, January 2019
The third meeting of MagicCELLGene took place in Zaragoza (24-25 January 2019). We presented all our progress reached so far, debated about the future steps and also planned the work some of the CSIC team members during their upcoming stays in Lisbon. As always, two intense and productive days!

Participation of EXPO--FCT, April 2019
On April 24th, the NOVA.ID partners participated in EXPO-FCT, the open event at FCT-NOVA where young students from all over Portugal get acquainted with curricula and ongoing research projects. This year, we focused our interaction on BioNanotechnology and namely on the use of nanoparticles in therapy. Visitors had the chance to know the goals of MagicCELLGene project and concept during a quick visit to the FCT-NOVA labs.

New project on the use of bioorthogonal chemistry and magnetic hyperthermia!
Exciting news! Our MagicCELLGene researcher, Dr Raluca Fratila, was awarded a project from the Spanish National Research Agency (Agencia Estatal de Investigación) to work on cell membrane hyperfluidization with magnetic nanoparticles. The project is called MACBETH (Magnetic nanoparticles for cell membrane hyperfluidization with localized hyperthermia) and has a duration of three years. MagicCELLGene team members Javier Idiago and Eduardo Moreno will be part of the MACBETH team as well. Looking forward to seeing new and interesting results derived from this project.
3rd Project progress meeting in Zaragoza, September 2019
Time for our third progress meeting already! It took place again in Zaragoza (4-6 September 2019) and was organized by our UNIZAR partner. We had a very interesting and productive meeting, with lots of new and exciting results! On top of this, our Portuguese colleagues, Alexandra Fernandes and Pedro Baptista gave two exciting talks on new approaches for cancer targeting and the use of light and gold nanoparticles for molecular detection and enhancement of therapeutic strategies. Thank you!

4th Project progress meeting in Zaragoza, February 2020
The MagicCELLGene team met again in Zaragoza (3-5 February 2020). This time, as the project is nearing its end, we had a longer meeting to discuss our results, manuscript drafting and plan future steps.

MagicCELLGene team members participate in the organization of the V JICI Conference
Eduardo Moreno and Javier Idiago were actively involved in the organization of the V JICI Conference - V Edición del Congreso de Jóvenes del Grupo Especializado de Coloides e Interfases (JICI-V) de la Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ) y l a Real Sociedad Española de Física (RSEF). They were part of the Organizing Committee of the conference, which took place in Zaragoza (March 2-4, 2020) and was a great success. Well done, Edu and Javi!
